BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

 

Since the early 1980s I have been actively engaged as a teacher and manager in both the public and private sectors.  My teaching experience includes traditional classroom teaching as well as corporate and other training venues. 

Education: Tufts University (B.A.); Univ. of Connecticut School of Law (J.D.)              

Teaching:  I have taught at the community college level both in Connecticut and California.  I taught Business Law at Tunxis Community College (Farmington, CT)  and Advanced Legal Research and Writing at the Canada College (Redwood City, CA) Paralegal Program.  More recently, I have enjoyed teaching a wide range of classes on Stress Management, Work, and Meditation in a number of different settings. 

Recent stress management venues include the following Bay Area companies: National Semiconductor in Santa Clara, CA; Symantec Corp. in Mountain View; and NovoNordisk in Hayward, as well as additional classes and workshops at East West Bookstore in Mountain View and the Ananda Sangha in Palo Alto.

Legal Background:  I have worked both as a practicing attorney and legal administrator.  During the mid-80s I worked as a court administrator and legal aid attorney in Hartford, CT.  During the early 1990s, I worked for the Santa Clara County(CA) Bar Association Law Foundation as Directing Attorney of AIDS Legal Services, a pro bono program offering assistance and representation to persons with HIV throughout the  South Bay. 

Other Work Experience:   Other recent work includes the corporate development department of KTEH-TV (Silicon Valley Public Television) and KQED-TV (San Francisco), or Northern California Public Broadcasting (PBS) in the area of fundraising, as well as serving as Customer Service Manager at East West Bookstore in Mountain View.  Over the years I have also worked in the non-profit world as a grant-writer and program manager in both Connecticut and California.
